Our History
Our winery, in Mantineia, Peloponnese, is located in Milia, 8 km from Tripoli. It is one of the oldest organized wineries in the region and its presence has contributed to the preservation and expansion of viticulture in the PDO Mandineia zone.
Mantineia’s connection with viticulture is as old as its history, a fact confirmed by archaeological findings in the area and of course by the “vine of Pausanias”, probably the oldest vineyard in the world. As in other important wine zones, the contribution of the Boutari winery was decisive. It preserved from extinction one of the main Greek white varieties, Moschofilero, from which PDO Mantineia is produced, and highlighted its potential to the fullest, making it known around the world.
