The Etate

Our newest and modern aesthetic winery is built outside the village of Skalani, in the estate of Fantaxometocho, since 2004.

History

The planting of the vineyard had begun in 1990. The main objective of our winery with this vineyard was to lay the foundations for the further promotion of Cretan wine worldwide, through the production of high quality wines. To date, we have managed to highlight the potential of local varieties and through our distinctions, we have made the potential of the Cretan vineyard known to the general public.

The varietal composition of our vineyard includes local varieties such as Vidiano, Malvasia Aromatica, Assyrtiko, Kotsifali and Muscat of Spina as well as foreign varieties such as Chardonnay and Syrah.

In the past, our vineyard has also functioned as an “experimental vineyard” since many varieties such as Mavrotragano, Assyrtiko and Aidani were first cultivated in a small part of the vineyard in order to observe their acclimatization in the area and to test the products they can produce.

Scalarea Estate

At an altitude that starts at 170 meters and reaches 215 meters, on an area of 70 acres, is the privately owned Boutaris vineyard. Thanks to the carefully chosen location, on the north side of the hill, the vineyard is protected from the lava, the hot southern wind of summer, while from the Cretan sea it receives the cool winds.

01 Liatiko

Liatiko is the ideal option for celebrating a romantic weekend or enjoying a relaxing getaway! The house is located in an amphitheatrical position within our beautiful vineyard. The views are breathtaking. From the large veranda, guests can indulge in endless views of the vineyards. You will enjoy the endless views of the vineyards from the large terrace.

02 Malvasia

Our Malvasia guest house is a picturesque retreat for moments of endless tranquility. Nestled among the vineyards, the house is elegantly designed for two guests, ensuring a simple yet luxurious stay.

03 Kotsifali

Kotsifali is surrounded by our beautiful vineyard and is specially designed for smaller groups of guests. It could be likened to a good bottle of wine, paired with good friends-a house that allows its guests to become one with nature. It accommodates up to four (4) guests. Accommodates up to four (4) people.
